So the annual PAXAUS is coming to Melbourne, and boy does it look good this year. Encompassing not only video games it is also holding a plethora of tabletop and trading card games. So if you are looking for a great experience in Melbourne on the weekend of 30the October to 1st of November then you should consider purchasing some tickets here: http://paxaustralia.com.au/registration although tickets are selling fast.
There will also be a long list of Australian You Tubers and Twitch broadcasters’ guest starring panels throughout the convention with a large range of discussion topics to be had no matter what your interests are, ranging from designing great games to how to help the Australian gaming scene and even discussions about the effect of gaming on mental health (one I am particularly looking forward too). Roster teeth will also be sending over some of its member for a panel as well. A full list of all events can be found here: http://paxaustralia.com.au/schedule . However if you are looking for a more hands on approach there is a long list of tournaments available to watch and enter.

If you feel like kicking it old school and gun for some retro high scores there will a variety of gaming available ranging from the good (Donkey Kong) to the ridiculous (California Games). If fast paced action is more your thing then be sure to check out the long list of fighting game tournaments held throughout the event ranging from Killer Instinct to Smash Brothers. If you are more patient or methodical then perhaps a Magic: the Gathering tournament or Hearthstone would be more up your alley. If you are feeling more artistic then why not the speed painting of miniatures, or even just a good old fashioned game of D&D or Pathfinder either way there is something for everyone even if you are not interested in the competitions. There is a long list of new realises and even test builds of unreleased games too.

There is a long list of guest panels with game developers including Naughty dog showering off their newest instalment in the Uncharted series and game footage from Eidos of their new upcoming game Dues Ex: Mankind Divided. Also alongside this there will be opportunities to play the upcoming Just Cause 3 or Dark Souls 3 from Bandi Namco. There is also some hardware displays if that is your thing, including the Steam VR and Alienware Steam machine. And last but not least a debut of their indie developers, showcasing over 75 different developers in the upcoming gaming scene.

Don’t fret if you can’t make it there, just keep yourself following Novastream for all the news and updates coming out of PAX.
