Finding Nemo, one of Pixar’s finest films to date has been re-released for a limited time in 3D. Now this is not a review of the actual movie, but rather the 3D element and if it is worth spending your money to see something you have seen millions of times before and own on DVD.
In short answer yes, yes and YES! If you have seen the preview you may have shared my scepticism about the 3D and if it was actually going to be worth it. The trailer showed little to no 3D effect and was set to be a major disappointment.
The good news is that the preview has deceived us! The 3D is brilliant, for a converted movie (from which I understand is easier to convert with an animated movie) little bubbles float out from the screen to your eyes, fish swimming, sharks biting, sea turtles spinning, it is all here and it looks truly beautiful. If there was a film that was built for 3D this is definitely the one.
Sitting in a cinema again with a full house with mainly children and 20 somethings re-living a child hood experience is worth every cent. The screams of laughter and genuine fear from kids is entertaining at times and so touching in others that these characters and this incredibly original and heart-warming story stands the test of time and continues to entertain and delight to this day.
