Maria sees Academy Award-winner Angelina Jolie play Maria Callas, one of the most iconic performers of the 20th century. Acclaimed director Pablo Larrain’s (“Jackie,” “Spencer”) film follows the American-Greek soprano as she retreats to Paris after a glamorous and tumultuous life in the public eye. The movie re-imagines the legendary icon in her final days as the diva reckons with her identity and life. The Hollywood Reporter calls it “daring and unconventional” and Jolie won the “Performer Tribute Award” at the Gotham Awards and was nominated for the Golden Globe for “Actress in a Drama Motion Picture.”
