The new movie APRIL that won the special jury prize at the Venice International FIlm Festival and wow’ed audiences at the Melbourne International Film Festival is about to launch on MUBI. The film APRIL revolves around Nina, an obstetrician-gynaecologist working in the only hospital of a provincial town in Georgia, is unconditionally devoted to her patients, even if that means crossing the line legally or socially. But after she is accused of negligence, she will be forced to question her choices. Starring Ia Sukhitashvili, Nino Javakhishvili, Temiko Chichinadze and Giorgi Bochorishvili, April features cinematography by Arseni Khachaturan (Bones and All, The Idol, Beginning) and a score by Matthew Herbert (The Wonder). April had its World Premiere at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, where it was awarded the Special Jury Prize.
