Bethesda Showcase 2022 Recap

It is 3am, I am sitting in my lounge room surrounded by moving boxes, the first thing I unpacked was my consoles and TV for this very moment. I have coffee in my hand and my laptop open ready to hopefully be wowed by what Microsoft will bring us over the next year. Fortunately, I was not disappointed, the 50 games showcased over the 2 hour presentation definitely have something to offer everyone and with big hitters like Bethesda coming to play with huge titles like Starfield, it feels like E3 without actually being E3.

With that in mind, let’s get the heavy hitter out of the way. Starfield was the finisher and such an explosive way to finish a solid showcase. This time around we got to see actual gameplay mixed with cinematic cut scene footage, truly showing us what it is going to be like in this world. This game seems to be a blend of mining for resources, planet exploration (clearly taking inspiration from the recent No Man’s Sky) while still incorporating combat with pirates taking over abandoned research stations and if that wasn’t enough, ship customisation, outpost building and character creation look detailed and extremely polished. While the developer is confident for a 2023 release, I feel like maybe they should have put an asterisk on this, as the scope of this game with thousands of planets to explore looks like an epic task. You can watch the full trailer below and keep an eye on Novastream for the latest Starfield updates

Bethesda kept the goods coming with an update on The Elder Scrolls Online. A brand new chapter titled High Isle: Legacy of the Bretons hits consoles on June 21. We are obsessed with this MMO and the constant slew of quality updates makes sure it is high on our must-play list. If you are playing on PC or MAC, you can access High Isle now, otherwise, it releases on consoles June 21. Watch the trailer below.

Fallout 76 continues to get updates with a major content update titled The Pitt coming out free to all players this September. Players will travel to a new area outside of Appalachia to a wasteland assisting a group of freedom fighters called the Union to try and reclaim their home from a group of raiders called the Fanatics. All players can access this content free in September. Watch the full trailer below.

Arkane Studios showed off their upcoming title Redfall. Set in a town of the same name., the world has been overrun by vampires. These aren’t your average run-of-the-mill cinema vampires, this horde of the undead have character while still appearing gruesome and intimidating. The heroes are simply protecting their town and the weapons wheel looks set to offer something different than your average round of guns. Watch the gameplay reveal trailer below and stay tuned to Novastream for more on this exciting new game!
