BraveCart’s world premiere at PAX|AUS

One thing I love about this time of year is we get to see the next crop of wonderful local developers showcasing their talents on the world stage. That stage is of course PAX and we are mere weeks away from this year’s iteration.

First game off the blocks for me is BraveCart from Sydney developers Hojo Studio.

BraveCart is a classic Aussie underdog story about a little abandoned shopping trolley who defies Alphabarn and Omegamart, the twin supermarket overlords of Duopolis, and sparks a revolution. our trolley awakens to find themselves abandoned, like so many others – destined to be destroyed and replaced.

Teaming up with scrappy, an abandoned receipt, they begin their quest to free all cartkind from the devious plans of the evil duopoly and forge their own path to freedom.

It’s a classic Australian underdog story set across the regional, suburban and metro areas of a fictional NSW – told as a funny, lighthearted satire on consumerism, duopoly and waste.

Does that not sound quintessentially Aussie to you? BraveCart is a cinematic puzzle adventure game designed for everyone to be able to pick up and enjoy. It’s simple styling and controls appealing to all levels of gamers. Hojo Studio has also been invited to speak at the Games for Change Asia Pacific Summit this year about how BraveCart will be used to donate to charities fighting corporate waste and enable players to take direct action towards sustainability.

Hojo Studio is going to be available on the floor at PAX for you to check out BraveCart and say G’day to the team behind it. Add them to your PAX list and check out their trailer below!
