First Look – Uncharted : The Lost Legacy

Logging into my email account last week I was thrilled to see a review code for Uncharted : The Lost Legacy and while I quickly cleared up space on my PS4 to play it, I read through the long list of what I can and can’t talk about. Fortunately the game comes out tomorrow so you will be able to watch a full video review with spoilers that will showcase just how incredible this game is.

You play as Nadine and Chloe, an unlikely duo set to find lost treasure as is the case with any Uncharted game. Along the way they encounter various locations, enemies and jaw dropping scenery that takes the best parts of Uncharted 4 and mixes them into a new kind of adventure that had me asking why are Naughty Dog done with this series? I NEED MORE!

The game’s main story runs for a total of 6 hours with plenty of treasures to find and a massive open world to explore, there are no words to describe how beautiful the settings and animations are in this game. From the war zone city scapes of India to the lush jungle, the story takes a deep dive into Hinduism. It’s not just the characters or the backgrounds, it is how the lighting and camera work all work together to produce an outstanding result.

Taking these two side characters from the previous games and putting them front and center is a great way for us to explore their back story and I feel like if Naughty Dog ever wanted to come back to the series, rather than dragging Nathan Drake out of retirement, I would be perfectly happy with a game that focuses on these two characters as the main protagonists. The puzzles are harder than any of the previous games and the lack of hints make it a challenging and rewarding experience when you get that penny drop moment in each one.

There are no end of surprises and Easter Eggs throughout this game that make it an absolute joy to play as an Uncharted fan. If you haven’t played the other games you may feel a little lost (no pun intended!) and you will more than likely not get the full Uncharted experience that this game offers.

My full video review will be up tomorrow, in the meantime you can view the beautiful in game photo gallery on our Facebook page here

Heretic Review: Religion and Belief in Unsettling Cinema

Heretic is a psychological horror film starring Hugh Grant as Mr. Reed, who entraps two Mormon missionaries, Sister Barnes and Sister Paxton, in his eerie home. The film explores themes of faith and belief, delivering unsettling twists. While it falters in depth, Grant’s performance and cinematography maintain viewer intrigue throughout.
