Indie Games to Add To Your Wishlist from PAX Australia 2025

  1. Momento

From two small studios based in Brisbane, Fat Alien Cat and Nomo Studio have created a beautiful cosy room decorator game, Momento. Players can move objects around the space, tidying up the room and in turn learning more about the main character. These choices can also influence how the story ends, with multiple endings. The beautiful illustrations of the game aid in its comfy and cosy vibes, with a relaxing soundtrack in the background to really help get you feeling zen.

The best part is that you can place items almost anywhere that your heart desires; there’s no rhyme or reason, and it’s all up to the player to create a space that feels good to them.

  1. Reaprieve – Death is our Beginning

Playing as a grim reaper named Milo, bound to the confines of his office job, we are given the task of deleting a soul’s unnecessary and sometimes forgetful memories, and making sure that the best ones are preserved.

The story based adventure game leads us through different doors and characters, and what eventually turns into an existential spiral.

  1. My Arms Are Longer Now

The team at Toot Games have developed this insanely hilarious game involving a comically long arm that so happens to double as a stealthy crime mogul. Using this really long arm to steal money, slap Myki Inspectors (ha!), and steal a dog, who knows what else it can do when the full version of My Arms Are Longer Now comes out. The cut scenes and dialogue also completely emulate the essence of Melbourne humour to a tee, and to that I say, chefs kiss.
