It’s that time of year again! Every website, outlet and blogger puts together a list of their top games of the year, and here at Novastream we are no different! We have compiled a list of our top 9 games of 2015, this is based on review scores, storytelling, graphics, use of next gen systems and our reviewer’s scores. So it may not be the “industry popularity contest” but we stand by our list! Without further ado here is the Novastream 9 for Games 2015.
1) The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt GAME OF THE YEAR – This game was pushed and pushed by Alana until we all finally started listening to her. Within hours of playing this game it was clear that this was a clear cut above the rest. Read Alana’s review here (You can now catch Alana over at www.gameplug.tv)
2) Lego Dimensions -What the? A WB Toy game makes it to number 2? Really? I know right! This game reinvents the cross franchise toy on portal ideas with some of our favourite properties while making Lego fun again. Read Alaisdair’s review here
3) Fallout 4 – It was a massive hype train for this game, with a surprise 6 month release window, Zahra lost so much of her life (and still is!) in this beautiful apocalyptic world. Read Zahra’s review here
4) Uncharted : The Nathan Drake Collection – Beautifully remastered and upgraded to full HD for Sony’s Playstation 4 console, these games are near perfect and really if you don’t have it already, it should be under your tree! Read Alaisdair’s review here
5) Super Mario Maker – The Wii U is still managing to pump out some consistent hits this year with this Little Big Planet inspired game/app. Read Pat’s review here
6) Rise Of The Tomb Raider – Xbox One owners got their hands on this release before anyone else and from what David has shown, it has paid off! Lara Croft returns in the highly anticipated follow up exclusive on Xbox One. Read David’s review here
7) Batman Arkham Knight – After several delays, an ill-fated PC launch and Season Pass issues, Rocksteady complete their Batman trilogy with a thrilling and engaging concluding piece.Read Alaisdair’s review here
8) Splatoon – Nintendo’s first original IP in a while proved to be a massive hit with its audience. Splatoon has won many awards for MMO of the year, and here at Novastream, Alaisdair & Zahra lost countless hours in this MMO explosion. Read Zahra’s review here
9) Until Dawn – Teen slasher’s previously haven’t translated well into the gaming landscape, Sony and Supermassive Games brought on actress Hayden Panetteriere to front this fright fest. Read David’s review here
