Novastream Exclusive – Interview with Master Rahool

Master Rahool, such a pleasure to have stolen you from your work for a word.

Thank you. You can’t hide in the quiet of the archives your whole life

No you certainly can’t. So we’re here to talk engrams, this new threat everyone is banging on about and we heard you might have some goss for us. Spill!

Goss? Spill? You wouldn’t happen to know pre-Golden Age German, would you?

That would be English. You know, spill; tell us what you know?

Hm? Right. Nobody knows German… You Gaurdians have entirely your own language sometimes. You know I once found an ancient, handheld device from the day the Traveller arrived? It spoke words that reminds me of you. A story for another time perhaps. Where to begin?

Let’s start with engrams, tell us about them.

Civilization once stretched from the southern tip of this continent, to the frozen north. The light was bright, the world interesting. Beautiful.

The things we find. Oh! See here, this carving? Lion faced, Archon. Thousands of years pre-collapse. See engrams are … Different. They’re a puzzle, sometimes from long ago.

What do you mean exactly?

It’s an encoded physical object. Complex, challenging. It must be decrypted to be understood.

Is that why the legendary engram I brought you last week turned out to be a strange coin?

These engrams are older than your order, Warlock. You cannot even imagine what it is to decode just one.

Do you know how many Fallen I slaughtered to get it? I’m sorry. It’s just, sometimes you don’t give us want we need.

I give you what the engram reveals to me. Nothing more, nothing less.

You know being a Guardian is hard work and I bring you this wonderful purple thing and you give me nothing. Some of the Guardians have been talking….

I’ve seen the posters.

Oh, you saw those…?

I am not always in the archives you know. It is not flattering, but I understand your frustration, Guardians. I have something to tell you.

You do?

I have acquired something… Legendary. I will share it for a price. That is all I can tell you for now.

ARE YOU SAYING YOU’LL SELL US LEGENDARY ENGRAMS?!?!

(I think Pat is hyperventilating)

We have some engrams you might find… Useful.

You’re not going to stop giving me motes of light when I bring you engrams are you? Aren’t you going to talk to us about the ‘King’ we heard was coming?
(Master Rahool smiles, shakes his head and starts walking back to his post)

I hope we helped you, Guardians. Come back before I get bored.

Well, you heard it first with Pat and Zahra, Master Rahool will soon be stocking some pretty awesome legendary engrams!

P.S. Once again we didn’t actually talk to Master Rahool. Like he would ever leave the archives to talk to us block-head guardians.

P.P.S. For all things The Taken King Pat and Zahra have you covered right here at Novastream!
