With only 30 days to go, PAX Australia is right around the corner! The huge weekend celebrating gaming and games culture, will be full of your favourite games, creators, cosplayers, and panels with featured guests like Amelia Tyler (Baldur’s Gate 3, Divinity Original Sin, Sea of Thieves, Hades 2), Ify Nwadiwe (Um, Actually, Dropout, Smosh, Achievement Hunter), Diana Gay (TTRPG Content Creator), and so many more.
Yesterday PAX announced a slew of big names adding onto the already fantastic line up, starting off with the exciting news that Gavin Verhey headlining as PAX Australia’s Storytime Speaker. Bringing his love and knowledge of Magic the Gathering with his work as a Principal Magic Designer, he’ll be at PAX all weekend to talk all things MTG.
And that’s not all! Not only will the weekend be full of gaming’s best publishers and stars, it will be jam packed with other incredible guests. Bringing out Josh Sawyer, the Studio Design Director of Obsidian Entertainment responsible for directing fan favourites like Fallout: New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, and the 2022 narrative adventure game Pentiment, he’ll be talking to his passion for the industry and the ins and outs of RPG.
Joshua Mills, a Game Director from Ubisoft Montreal who has a massive hand in Rainbow Six Siege, has shaped the game to what it is today. He’ll be joining other speakers at a fireside chat at this year’s PAX giving a behind the scenes look into the game and his career.
PAX will also be including more powerhouses in the industry, including the Creative Lead Game Designer of 20th Century Games at The Walt Disney Company, Lis Moberly. Her history as an academic and professor has led to her important research on the critical issues faced during game development, which she will no doubt touch on over the weekend.
The founder of Geeks & Grounds, Jenny Windom has been heralding inclusive gaming experiences for years and continues to showcase wholesome gaming experiences through her content creation, game club, and podcast – so be sure not to miss out while she’s here.
Finally, the team at Good Games Morley will also be heading over to PAX Australia this year. They have grown quickly from working at their local board game store, to becoming one of the biggest Magic the Gathering and LGS content machines internationally. Riley, Aaron, Ricky and Violet will be bringing their quirky energy, and fun and games right to PAX all weekend.
