Another week has past us by and in the gamer world a lot can and as always has happened; hopefully you squeezed in a game or two as well.
Where else to start our week in review than with the latest games. Starting us off is Unravel, a puzzle platformer with a similarly adorable art style and indeed premise to Little Big Planet. From reports across the Internet Unravel looks to have released fairly smoothly with gamers praising its aesthetic and story even if the puzzles are causing a knot or two. Next up is Firewatch, a PS4 exclusive best described as an open world explorer of sorts. Unlike games that follow a similar formula, Firewatch is setting gamers alight (in the good way) through a stellar story and accessible gameplay mechanics. Xbox owners had an exclusive of their own this past week in Cobalt, a game which in comparison hasn’t been as kindly received so far. Last but not least is Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia, the final instalment in the platform based Chronicles trilogy. And despite an interesting setting, this final instalment is plagued by the same issues of its predecessors with poor level design and inconsistent difficulty making this a trilogy many are happy to see meet its end.
To news of games to come and Titanfall 2 is reportedly set to have a fleshed out single player campaign. A big let down of the original was a lack of backstory and explanation of the Titanfall world courtesy of no single player campaign. Will this inclusion make you more likely to pick up the game when it releases?
From one shooter to another, albeit one with a very different setting. Battalion 1944, a World War II shooter has reached its funding goal in less than three days therefore green lighting the game. Feels like it’s been too long since we last had hood history based shooter.
Many an Xbox owner rejoiced when Red Dead Redemption was accidentally revealed as a backwards compatible title for Xbox One. Unfortunately Microsoft has come and called the announcement an error and removed access to it. Sitting third at 360 title gamers want to see made available on the Xbox One, surely it’s just a matter of time until we see the Rockstar classic revived for current gen.

From developer Samurai Punk the game is a ridiculous amount of fun, I got small dose of it at PAX last year and am eager to improve my screen cheating skills.

A report earlier in the year suggested Destiny 2 was slated for a 2016 release but delays had forced them to settle for 2017, seems there was some accuracy to those reports.
