Melbourne Fringe Festival – Arcade

The Melbourne Fringe Festival is in full swing with various events running across the city. The independent art festival celebrates independent theatre, drag, music, comedy and art events. This year’s theme is playfulness, and what better way to play than to celebrate art through the medium of video games.

This is exactly what Top Secret Life Drawing founder Jean-Luc is doing with his event Arcade. The hour of power event features 5 of Melbourne’s best performers posing back to back before going head-to-head as some of video game’s greatest characters from Street Fighter, Tekken and Mortal Kombat.

It looks to be a fun-filled night of art, colour, fun and nostalgic throwbacks to some of the best video game characters ever created.

The film explores themes of faith and belief, delivering unsettling twists. While it falters in depth, Grant’s performance and cinematography maintain viewer intrigue throughout.
