Cinefest Oz announces its Film Prize Jury

CinefestOZ Film Festival have revealed the full list of the jury who will decide the winners of the festival. The prestigious prize of $100,00 recognises excellence in Australian filmmaking, this year the line-up of films is absolutely stunning including Bromley : Light After Dark, The Rooster, Shayda and Monolith.

Joining Jury Chair Robert Connolly on the panel will be international guest US producer Debbie Liebling of South Park, Bridesmaids and TED fame; award winning actress, director Mia Wasikowska, talented film, tv and theatre actor Rob Collins and four-time Emmy award winner, production designer Deborah Riley.

CinefestOz chair Margaret Buswell said “We are very fortunate that Debbie Liebling, Deborah Riley, Mia Wasikowska, Rob Collins and Robert Connolly are joining us at CinefestOZ this year and generously giving their time as panel members to award the winner of the highly sought-after Film Prize.”

“The CinefestOZ Film Prize was established in 2014 in partnership with the Western Australian Government to recognise excellence in Australian filmmaking. The inaugural recipient that year was Robert Connolly for his film Paper Planes and – in a full circle moment – we have Robert returning to the Festival this year as our Jury Chair for 2023.“

The festival will take place in the stunning Margaret River region of Western Australia from August 29 to September 3rd. CinefestOZ has cultivated a reputation as both an industry event and destination film festival, with guests having the opportunity to see some of Australia’s best new films first, connect with filmmakers and visiting talent, and attend red-carpet premieres and events at the region’s cinemas, wineries, restaurants, boutique breweries, small bars and galleries.
