Timmy Failure Mistakes Were Made

Timmy Failure is a very imaginative 11 year old boy who believes that he runs the best detective agency in the world Total Failure, with the help of his 1200 pound polar bear partner. This movie is incredibly enjoyable for all ages – while it may be more directed at a young audience as someone who is in my late 20’s I found myself constantly laughing at the ridiculousness and dry humour of Timmy.

The storyline is very simplistic, but keeps the audience entertained due to the constant mistakes that are created by Timmy that children and adults will find hilarious. There is even a turn in the storyline where it becomes more serious and even more relatable. It is an educational way to learn about animal awareness, loneliness, taking responsibility for mistakes, and learning from those mistakes, and of course that being different is ok.

The dialogue is quirky, smart, and the dry humour and delivery by Winslow Fegley as Timmy is easily the standout of the film. For fans of The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, Timmy often reminds me a lot of Sheldon so the humour definitely isn’t for everyone, but considering the movie runs for a short duration of an 1 hour and 40 minutes, it doesn’t become tiresome as the storyline continues developing in unexpected ways.

Timmy Failure could easily expand into a franchise, and I would gladly watch every single one as long as it kept Winslow in the driver seat. Winslow is already an incredibly talented 11 year old individual, and he has great chemistry with the whole cast including Wallace Shawn, Opehlia Lovibond, Craig Robinson, and Kei (plays Rollo). I just wish the Polar Bear Total was in the film way more.
