Eddie Redmayne swung by Pottermore over the weekend to chat about the latest installment in the Potterverse. The Academy Award-winning Best Actor for The Theory of Everything is nominated again for The Danish Girl but seems to be setting his eye to the big blockbuster on his slate.
He told the official fan website,
“There was no question I wanted to do this movie. For me, it was a question of whether I’d get the gig. When I read J.K. Rowling’s script, I just had my mind blown. I was so excited by it. The amazing thing was that I found it funny, I found it a thriller, I found it romantic. At the end, I was deeply moved by it.”
That’s pretty high praise for any film, though keep in mind it is his film he’s promoting. The film follows textbook author Newt Scalamander in his early life after a bigger-on-the-inside trunk breaks free some of the world’s most fantastic magical creatures. It’s Newt’s job to erm… find them.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them launches Nov. 18 2016.
