HBO has unveiled the chilling first trailer and key art for IT: Welcome to Derry, the much-anticipated original drama series set in Stephen King’s terrifying universe. The eight-episode series will premiere Monday, 27 October exclusively on HBO Max, with new episodes rolling out weekly until the finale on 15 December.
Expanding the IT Legacy
Developed by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti (IT, IT Chapter Two, The Flash) and Jason Fuchs (IT Chapter Two, Wonder Woman), the show is produced by Warner Bros. Television and promises to expand on the nightmarish mythology introduced in King’s iconic novel and brought to life in the hit feature films.
Andy Muschietti, who directed both IT films, will return to helm multiple episodes. Together with Barbara Muschietti and Fuchs, the creative team is aiming to deliver the same blend of heart, dread, and supernatural horror that made Pennywise a modern horror icon.
Cast & Characters
The series boasts a stacked ensemble including Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgård. Skarsgård’s return as the terrifying Pennywise the Dancing Clown marks a major drawcard for fans, ensuring continuity with the successful film adaptations.

Television, IT: Welcome to Derry brings together an impressive slate of executive producers including Andy and Barbara Muschietti (via their Double Dream banner), Jason Fuchs (through FiveTen Productions), Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Bill Skarsgård, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin.
