A Leo & JJ Collab?

That’s the latest tip floating around after a bidding war began for the rights to bring a new non-fiction book to life. The newly-released title Killers of the Flower Moon: An American Crime and the Birth of the FBI was penned by David Grann and just by the title, seems right up Leo’s alley.

Co-funding Leonardo DiCaprio’s bid is the hottest director in Hollywood – JJ Abrams. He’s expressed a desire to do something more grounded after spending years in franchise pics Mission: ImpossibleStar Trek and most recently Star Wars. This is the exact slight of hand that wins Oscars. Everybody loves you for director Star Wars but it never stood a chance on awards night. Something like Killers of the Moon has every chance.

And what a cool title, no?

Adding to Oscar fever 2018+ *yawn* is that Forest Gump screenwriter Eric Roth has already begun work before the rights were even secured.

Competitors for Leo, JJ and Eric? George Clooney, who is more likely to direct than star, or Amy Pascal, producer of the failed Amazing Spider-Man endeavor.

Not too much more to say on this, other than we’ll keep you posted.
