He wanders into a New Age shop and picks up a kitschy novelty toy — the One Wish Willow — which, for $6.99, promises one wish. His desire: for Nikki to love him more than anything in the world. And just like that, she does. Nothing could go wrong. Right? What follows is a darkly compelling spiral into obsession, consequence, and just how dangerous it is to get exactly what you wished for.
Barker is one of horror’s most exciting new voices right now: he built his following via YouTube (800K subs) before shooting his debut found-footage film for $800, which racked up 2M views online. OBSESSION was the first acquisition of TIFF 2025 where Focus Features paid $15M+ for worldwide rights, Jason Blum came on as EP, and Blumhouse greenlit his next film before it had even screened. It’s currently sitting at 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, and he’s just been announced to direct the Texas Chainsaw reboot.
Michael Johnston (Teen Wolf) stars opposite Inde Navarrette (Superman & Lois), with Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter rounding out the cast.
