The tech industries biggest event of the year CES has begun in Las Vegas. Tech companies come together to bring their latest tech innovations, along with prototypes, some of which may never see the light of day anywhere else. This year’s even is being held in Las Vegas, and the first day has already some of the biggest names in the biz showcase some truly exciting protoypes and products. We have pieced together a highlight of the top announcements from the opening day, you can watch the full opening keynote speeches at the bottom of this post.
ASUS ROG (Republic of Gamers)
The ROG Strix SCAR 16 and 18 showed off some bold new chassis designs with full surround RGB lighting and boasts the first tool-less bottom panel in a gaming laptop. There is easy access to open the inside of the laptop which allows for easy access to clean the fans or upgrade the storage and RAM. As someone who struggles with screwdrivers, this is such a great innovation. In the display, there is a dual-layer ACR film which is said to reduce reflections by 55% while boosting contrast as well. These are powered by NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU which will offer features like ray tracing combined with excellent performance. The machines also incoporate the latest processors from AMD and Intel giving a complete next-gen experience for both gamers and content creators.
Samsung
The groundbreaking tech giant have teamed up with Google to release Eclipsa Audio, a 3D audio technology that will be intergrated into its 2025 TV and Soundbar lineup.

The technology will be intergrated into Samsung’s 2025 line-up ranging from the Crystal UHD series to the flagship Neo QLED 8K models.
Art loves who have embrace Samsung’s Frame get a new model this year with The Frame Pro. It enhances the quality of the art with advanced Neo QLED technology promising brighter colours, sharper contrast and improved dimming for deeper blacks. The Pro also comes with a Wireless One Connect box that allows for all of your devices and consoles to stream wirelessly to the Frame Pro.

The Frame Pro will release in Australia in the first half of the year with pricing to come later.
Sony
The Japanese giant finally revealed their first electric car. In a partnership with Honda, the Afeela 1 will be released in California with pre-orders now. The car has screens across the width of the dashboard and includes 40 sensors to allow for semi-autonomous driving assistance. The car is being framed as a luxury EV and more information about pre-orders will be released this week.
The company also announced a few film projects based on their Playstation game franchises. Helldivers II is getting a live-action movie, Ghost of Tsushima is getting an anime series on CrunchyRoll and the biggest announcement was Horizon Zero Dawn getting a live action film from Columbia Pictures.
