CES Lenovo Gaming Recap

It’s been a huge week for the tech industry with announcements, reveals and hands-on experiences with new devices. Here are the biggest announcements from Lenovo.

Lenovo Legion Go S

Our favourite hand-held of 2024 is getting a new version with the Legion Go S. The refined version features a brand new ergonomic design, a 8 inch 120Hz display and comes with controllers that cannot be removed like the previous version.

The console is white and runs Windows 11 on the Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip with 32gb of RAM and a 55.5wh battery life. It will have a pair of USB4 ports on top along with a MicroSD card slot for expanded storage.

The second Lenovo Legion Go S comes in black and is powered by Steam OS. This replaces the Windows 11 used on the other devices, and is the first outside of Valve’s Steam Deck to offer the OS as native. This will give you full access to your Steam library as well as your Cloud saves. This version doesn’t have a release date or local pricing at this stage, it is expected to be released in the USA in May this year with a $499 USD price tag. We will keep you updated as more local details come are released.

The third model revealed is the Lenovo Legion Go 2. It is a prototype so the full details have not been revealed yet. We can confirm that it features the new AMD Ryzen™ Z2 Extreme processor with RDNA™ 3.5 graphics and up to 32GB of 7500Mhz LPDDR5X RAM2, as well as a native landscape 8.8” 16:10 144Hz5 500nit OLED PureSight touch display with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).

It does offer up to 2TB for storage and a 74watt battery that is set to be the next leap forward in handheld PC gaming.

Legion Tab

The newest Lenovo Legion Tab has been revealed, and it’s basically one of the highest-powered tablets around with an 8.8 inch display running SnapDragon 8 Gen 3 with 12gb of RAM, 256 gig of storage and runs Android 14. It features a 6550mAh battery and dual USB-C bypass charging ports. The full-metal design at just 7.79mm thin and 0.77lb (350g), the Lenovo Legion Tab (8.8”, 3) packs a lot of power into a portable package with room
to spare. This looks set to be the best Android tablet around for movies and gaming.

What are you looking forward to from these announcements? Personally my money is on the Lenovo Legion Go S Steam OS and the Legion Tab look like absolute winners. We will keep you updated on local release dates and pricing.
