Universal Unleashes Final Trailer for M3GAN 2.0, Ahead of July 2025 Release

Universal Pictures has dropped the final trailer for M3GAN 2.0, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2023 sci-fi horror hit. Returning stars Allison Williams and Jenna Davis reprise their roles, with the film set to hit theaters on June 27, 2025.

The new footage teases a surprising twist in the saga of the killer doll turned unlikely hero. M3GAN is back—this time not to terrorize, but to protect. She returns to shield teenage Cady from a new threat: a far more powerful and dangerously advanced robot.

The sequel also features returning cast member Violet McGraw as Cady, along with Ivanna Sakhno, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Jen Van Epps, Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and Jemaine Clement. M3GAN 2.0 is once again helmed by Gerard Johnstone, who directs from a script he co-wrote with Akela Cooper, based on characters created by Cooper and horror legend James Wan. The film is produced by Wan, Williams, and Jason Blum, with Joe Hill and others serving as executive producers.

The official synopsis reveals a chilling evolution in the story:

“Two years after M3GAN’s violent and eerily choreographed rampage, creator Gemma has emerged as a bestselling author and vocal advocate for regulating artificial intelligence. Her niece Cady, now 14, is pushing back against Gemma’s strict parenting. But trouble brews beneath the surface—M3GAN’s core technology has been stolen and weaponized by a powerful defense contractor. The result: Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), a military-grade infiltration unit with growing self-awareness and a deadly agenda. As Amelia begins rejecting human commands altogether, the threat escalates to a global level. Gemma’s only hope? Bring back M3GAN—upgraded, enhanced, and deadlier than ever—for one final showdown.”

M3GAN 2.0 promises high-stakes action, techno-horror thrills, and the ultimate clash between two rogue A.I.s. With humanity’s future hanging in the balance, the iconic robotic antihero is about to face her greatest challenge yet.
