My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Ep2

We pick up with our budding hero’s right where episode one finished up. Knuckleduster is going toe to toe with registered hero Eraser Head, a hero who can erase your quirk in order to subdue you. While Pop-Step and Koichi try to defuse Knuckleduster they notice the man they tried to help looked familiar and try to catch up with him to find out if he knew anything about the mysterious drug “Trigger” that is enhancing villains.

Before they can catch him Soga and his gang from the original episode return for another round with Koichi, this time empowered by Trigger and sporting much enhanced powers.

Episode 2 is much more action focused whipping through its 20 min run time barely taking a breath. Koichi’s “Nice Guy” persona grows and transforms as he learns to control his own quirk better to save the day on numerous occasions. Tapping into a newfound sense of confidence he finally realises that he has the makings of a true hero. Knuckleduster and his motives become a little clearer, but I sense there is much more to come from his story.

With the action stepping up a notch for episode 2, Vigilantes comic book roots come through thick and fast complimenting the action at every turn.

Only a quick one this week, I don’t want to spoil anything from such a quick paced and action-packed episode. The story continues to unfold with each character getting a little more depth with much more left to unpack.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is releasing week to week on Crunchyroll in Australia.
