TV Review – iZombie S01

Episode 2 – Brother, Can You Spare A Brain?

We are back with Liv and her oh so pale complexion in episode 2 of iZombie. This episode is based around the mysterious Zombie haunting Liv’s dream and the investigation of an artist, Javier, who was murdered. What was his cause of death? Paintbrush to the eyeball, ouch. With Goodwin on the ‘It always the wife’ bandwagon Liv doesn’t hesitate to munch on the victims brains, creating a rather delicious looking snack, hot sauce included.iZombie-Brother-Can-You-Spare-a-Brain-screenshot-1

With Liv discovering that Javier was in an affair after a very steamy vision, Goodwin is set that it is the wife. But in the following interrogation things take a twist with wife being in the presence of Javier’s lover and she also announces that she is her ‘favourite of Javier’s lovers’. Righto…

As the episode continues we discover that Liv has picked up Javier’s love for art, women and men. With an emphasis on the love for women and men as Liv debuts her flirtatious side in this episode. Which in my opinion was quite hilarious.

With Liv’s newly found skill for art she sets out to sketch the mysterious Zombie that has been plaguing her dreams, in hopes that she will find him. Her dreams come true as he shows up at the Morgue and seems rather friendly. Is he a friend or foe? We will have to wait and see.zmb102b-0378b-126111

The episode reaches its peak with the murder being solved, the wife did it after all, what a shock and us discovering that the mysterious zombie is most likely turning into a foe. With him having a romantic encounter with a woman he returns and to our discovery she is beginning to transform into a fellow brain hungry zombie. His offer? $25,000 a month for a supply of brains, not too bad I do say so myself, fresh brains are hard to come by.

The episode ends with an awkward encounter with Liv’s ex fiancé, her heightened sense of sexual appreciation encouraged her to make a visit. Which ended in a kiss and which also ended in being rejected. There was though a big lesson to be learned in this episode. What lesson you may ask? It is always the wife.
