It has been a big week for one of 2026’s most anticipated games. Born from the creative geniuses behind The Witcher 3, the team at the newly formed developer Rebel Wolves picked up their talents right where they left off and are bringing us a new action RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker. Now confirmed to be releasing this year and we don’t have too long to wait. September 3rd we will be let loose in this dark fantasy world full of nightmarish creatures.

Along with the release date we have received a heap of information to grease up the hype train.
I’ll link some videos below and be sure to check out the images for some visual stimuli calling you for a pre-order.
Launching on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S with pre-orders now available on digital platforms and in stores locally.

Story trailer – meet some of the allies Coen will encounter during his adventures across Vale Sangora, some becoming allies while others turn against you, but all play a crucial part in your journey and the world around you. Calling on their previous experience the developers showcased their most recent PC build focusing on narrative driven, open world activities. Exploration unlocks new abilities, reveals hidden secrets and can have varying effects on your gameplay ultimately altering your journey. Your actions hold weight and you must decide what consequences you’re willing to accept along your path.

We also got a peak behind the scenes from the team directly responsible for bringing this world to life. Members of the Rebel Wolves team, including Piotr Kucharski (Writer), Daria Bury-Zawada (Lead Gameplay Animator), Maciej Wiśniewski (Senior Level Designer), and Dorota Rutkowska (Producer) broke down specific gameplay mechanics and story details highlighting what they are most excited about for us.
If you’re asking yourself why there seems to be an authenticity to the games combat, check out the feature towards the end of the presentation featuring former UFC champion Jan Błachowicz, who contributed to motion capture performances for one of the game’s antagonists, Bakir, a vampire from Brencis’ clique.

The below is the full video of the Road to Launch Event. Well worth the watch if you missed it!

There we have it, The Blood of Dawnwalker is shaping up to be a genre defining entry into the dark fantasy RPG space, backed by some serious industry heavy weights at Rebel Wolves. It’s looking to bring a new world to life that is engulfed in blood and chaos, hanging in the balance as the Black Death takes a deadly toll and opportunistic vampires move to seize power.
In order for you to save your family you must walk the line between the worlds of life and death, not quite human, not fully a vampire, use your strengths and control your weaknesses of both worlds to push on and fight back against this new enemy. Your choices will shape you and the world around you.
