Xbox Just Leveled Up!

In the early hours of this morning, Microsoft revealed its plans for the next 12 months for Xbox and Game Pass. An impressive 50 titles were revealed to come out over the next year with some heavy hitters like Starfield, Forza Motorsport and Diablo IV all set to dominate the gaming landscape.

The biggest surprise was definitely the announcement of a partnership between Kojima Productions and Xbox for a cloud-based game. With massive hits like Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima is always known for innovation and is one of the most creative minds in the gaming landscape. Traditionally Kojima works with Sony on Playstation titles so it was a complete surprise that this partnership was announced. Watch the announcement below

More RPG content is coming to Xbox with some Persona titles heading to the Game Pass service. Persona 4 Golden, Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Portable coming to Xbox and Windows. The titles will be added October 21, 2022.

We are still obsessed with Forza Horizon 5, so it was a complete surprise that Forza Motorsport is coming. Built completely from the ground up for Xbox Series X|S consoles, it is no surprise that the level of detail on the cars and world was absolutely spectacular. If like us you are still obsessed with Forza Horizon 5, there is some fresh new content coming with a Hot Wheels expansion on July 19. The event is set above the ground with clicky-clacky orange tracks sending Forza cars into loops and spins through a five-part story incorporating four new Hot Wheels life-size cars to race around in. If that wasn’t enough, you can play co-op online from the start of the story. There will also be special Hot Wheels heat events and an additional six Forza cars to unlock. Grab the expansion July 19 on Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Obsidian released a brand new title Pentiment taking players on a 25 year journey through various murder mysteries. Players will investigate townsfolk which will lead them to make decisions that will impact the town. The game looks beautiful with an artistic flair done with 2D painting in a medieval-style set to release in November this year.

Mojang, the developer behind Minecraft have been hard at work since the release of Minecraft Dungeons. Set in the same world, a brand new action-strategy title called Minecraft Legends is currently in development in conjunction with Blackbird Interactive. Players will create a bunch of allies and go into battle against the forces of the Overworld. While we didn’t see much about the gameplay, it is great to see the Minecraft world being expanded into different styles. You can watch the trailer below

Mobile games from Riot are coming to Game Pass with League of Legends, Wild Rift and Runeterra all headed to Game Pass. We don’t have a release date just yet but the sheer fact that these titles are translating across is an epic win and another reason to jump on the Game Pass train if you have been hesitating.

Diablo IV is coming in 2023 to Xbox consoles. The game will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. It will feature cross-play and cross-progression on all platforms, if you are playing on console you can play with a friend on co-op. Watch the beautiful footage below

A Plague Tale: Requiem is coming to Game Pass day one of release. The highly-anticipated sequel showcases a significant upgrade on the Xbox next-gen consoles. We cannot wait to see how Amicia and Hugo are going after the shocking events of Innocence. The game is set to release in 2022. Watch the trailer below.

If you are looking to jump into some new content straight away, Microsoft Flight Simulator is celebrating its 40 year anniversary with a special edition coming as a free game for Game Pass holders and anyone who purchased Microsoft Flight Simulator. The new edition will add helicopters and gliders as well as celebrating previous iterations of the game. The Spirit of St Louis, an Airbus 310 and a partnership with Halo to add the Infinite Pelican. Xbox and Bethesda delivered a really solid presentation highlighting an incredible lineup of content coming to their ecosystem in the next year. It truly felt like E3 was finally here but no actual stage or venue. The huge surprise was Kojima partnering with them for a new cloud-based experience. As well as a full 50 brand new games coming to Xbox in a mere year. Bethesda truly stood out above the rest and showed just why Microsoft acquiring them was worth the money. Starfield, Redfall and new content for The Elder Scrolls Online were all among the presentation’s biggest standouts.

It is looking like a massive year for Microsoft, be sure to keep it locked on Novastream for all the latest updates, news and reviews for Xbox. If you were still deciding on whether to get Game Pass or not, a good chunk of these games is included with Game Pass on the day of release. Xbox just delivered a huge level up with its software and a solid reason to get Game Pass.
