Fans hoping to recapture the magic of the first Deadpool movie will be disappointed to hear that director of the first hit film Deadpool Tim Miller has officially left the sequel. Deadline reports that the split was due to creative disputes between the films star and producer Ryan Reynolds about the casting of Cable and other creative decisions.

The split appears to be amicable with Miller heading straight into Fox’s sci fi thriller Influx, which is being adapted from the novel by David Suarez with a look to creating a trilogy.

Deadpool was a giant surprise hit for Fox, filmed on a $58 million budget and raking in over $782 million globally, the R rated superhero film is said to have greenlit other R rated superhero projects at both Fox and other studios as the audience appetite seems to exist for it.
