The Half of It Review

The Half Of It is about Ellie Chu who has been roped into helping out her new friend Paul, to get a date. Ellie’s life gets very complicated when it becomes more about her friendship, her crush, accepting who she is – instead of getting quick cash to take off to college.

The story is pretty simplistic with its short duration, as it has some pretty charming moments while giving us the typical Teen rom-com netflix films they have begun to spit out constantly. It has an interesting take in dealing with coming out in a small religious town and the expectations of young relationships straight out of high school eg. Marriage is encouraged.

Performances are decent for the mostly unknown actors, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this movie proves successful enough for it to release a sequel. If you enjoyed movies like To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, Sierra Burgess Is A Loser, and The Perfect Date, and the Kissing Booth – you are sure to love this. So check it out as it’s now streaming on Netflix!!
