The first Microsoft Flagship Store outside of North America is set to open it’s doors right here in Sydney Australia on Thursday, November 12th at midday. In line with their company mission to help people achieve more in their lives, Microsoft aims to deliver a positive impact on the communities they open in by providing access to the latest technology and promote STEM learning and youth education.
To that end, Microsoft will donate more than US$2 Million in software and technology grants to honor the work of Not-for-profit community groups working around Australia and host a number of complimentary workshops and seminars open to the community on the stores second floor. These events will include workshops for late teenagers on the possibilities of coding and potential career paths as well as seminars for parents aimed to assist with understanding online security and protecting their children online.
As well as this, the store will feature a highly-anticipated Answer Desk – a one-stop location for any technical questions, repair and troubleshooting regardless of the device or where it was purchased. There will also be the Community theatre where patrons can immerse themselves in technology, learning and engaging with Microsoft Experts, the schedule to which will be announced in coming weeks.
The opening festivities commence from 11:30am and will include giveaways and unique offers on Surface and Xbox One products as well as experiencing new innovations that coincide with the official launch of Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book. Customers are being invited to queue from as early as 10:00pm the night before at the entry to Westfield Sydney on Pit Street Mall and the first 750 customers who visit the store opening day will receive two tickets for a community concert featuring Jessie J and Ellie Drennan (winner of The Voice Australia 2015).
Microsoft look forward to welcoming you to their new store on November 12th.
