Xbox Showcase 2026 Recap

Xbox has just dropped its latest showcase, and following a massive management shift over the past few months, the brand’s renewed focus is crystal clear. With new leadership under Asha Sharma taking the company back to its gaming core, Xbox is on a mission to win back the fanbase.

Today’s hour-long presentation firmly affirmed this bold new direction, proving that the brand is ready to reclaim its title as “the best place to play.” Packed with console exclusives, major third-party announcements, and the massive reveal of a brand-new console, the showcase delivered on all fronts—capped off by an extended deep-dive into Gears of War: E-Day.

Check out the biggest announcements and watch the full showcase below.

Gears of War – E: Day Xbox EXCLUSIVE – An exclusive for Xbox, Gears of War : E-Day looks like it is the return to form for the franchise. This gorgeous trailer brings the franchise into the 2026 gaming landscape with a blend of CGI and gameplay blending seamlessly.

Fable  – I know we are all sad with the delay to February next year, but this new trailer starring actress Hayley Atwell (Captain America) as the new villain has only raised our hype for this long dormant series to come back. With beautiful graphics, a return to form for the original games, hopes are high for this one!

Halo Campaign Evolved – New Halo is ALWAYS a good thing, taking this back to pre-ring days the explosions look colourful and we can’t wait to see what secrets get unlocked.

Resonance A Plague Tale Legacy – Taking a massive step away from the main series will be interesting to see how this plays out. Set 15 years before the previous games, I’m not quite sure how this will play out as it doesn’t look or feel like part of the main series. This is only our first glimpse as to what is in store on Minotaur Island, hopefully we will see more before the game releases in 2027.

Persona 4 Revival

State of Decay 3 – One of my personal favourite franchises, this trailer showed a mix of gameplay and CGI footage. It has been a long 6 years since this game was first announced, and to get this extended gameplay AND a release window of 2027 is a big win for this franchise.

Sea of Thieves : Custom Seas

Metro 2039 – The first gameplay reveal for this highly anticipated title did not disappoint. This franchise is another personal favourite of mine and after how incredible the VR game was, to see the Hunter, the developers confirmed “In April, we revealed that our antagonist was not just ‘Fuhrer,’ but none other than the first Spartan himself, Hunter. Today, we get our first in-game look at him, adorned in decorated Novoreich uniform, a fascist perversion of the iconic Spartan armour. His image can be seen all over, his presence looming over the Metro in crumbling posters, flickering propaganda, and towering statues.”

Bad Magpie – An interesting art style with a one winged bird, you collect items and cause chaos, this one looks like it could be the next Untitled Goose Game.

Senua

Doom The Dark Ages Revelations

Crazy Taxi World Tour – Taking this classic Sega title and bringing it into the current gen was no easy feat. This gameplay trailer shows just how whacky this is going to be. The end of the trailer did hint at a plane, could we see more than just the taxi?

Xbox Series X25

Age of Empires IV Raiders of the North

Minecraft Dungeons II

Magician : The Devil’s Deal

Valor Mortis

The Elder Scrolls Online Now on GamePass

Where Winds Meet

Castlevania Belmont’s Curse

Vivarium

Persona 6

Spyro A Realm Beyond – Did anyone see this coming? A new Spyro game with beautifully updated graphics with that classic Spyro gameplay, this could be good!

Clockwork Revolution – Xbox Console Exclusive

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 : First Look

Xbox Games Showcase 2026

Xbox is undeniably ready to reclaim its heavyweight position in the console market. Following a massive wave of announcements—including a gorgeous, classic-inspired new console and two major confirmed exclusives—there has truly never been a better time to jump back into the Xbox ecosystem.

But it wasn’t just the first-party reveals that stole the show. Xbox’s third-party lineup is looking incredibly strong, highlighted by the absolute surprise announcement of a brand-new Spyro game. Add in the highly anticipated first gameplay footage for both Metro 2039 and Crazy Taxi World, and the message is clear: Xbox has a very bright console future ahead.
