Alaisdair’s Top 20 Movies of 2020

It’s that time of year again to countdown my top 10 movies of 2020. It was a VERY different year for movie viewing and while I did miss heading to the cinema, I discovered the joy of watching movies at home. It is no easy thing to attempt to sit down in your house and not be distracted by washing, cleaning, smart devices and the like, but thanks to a house move and some creative decorating, my at home cinema is now fully setup and I found myself heading into here for “work mode” and seeing some truly incredible movies. From feel good family hits, to female superheroes dominating the screen and gripping international dramas, the breadth of movies this year truly was unlike any other. From homegrown horror and murder mystery films, Pixar stepped up with both of their films going to Disney + and filling the year with surprise and delight.
